Just as before the spring holidays, the Public Health Authority urged Swedes to think before making trips during the midsummer weekend due to the corona pandemic.
During Thursday and Friday, travel increased significantly overall - but compared to the corresponding days in midsummer 2019, there are mostly declines. This is according to statistics from Telia's Crowd Insights service, which SVT has taken part of.
For example, travel from Stockholm County to Gotland County increased by more than 300 percent compared to the average during week 22 and 23. Compared to midsummer 2019, travel from Stockholm to Gotland decreased by 36 percent.
