Pointe du Grouin, in Cancale. - Colliot / SIPA

A man in his forties was found seriously injured at the foot of the cliffs at Pointe du Grouin, in Cancale (Ille-et-Vilaine) in the night from Sunday to Monday. Informed by relatives of the man's worrying disappearance, the police alerted the gendarmes in Cancale. Living in Cesson-Sévigné, very close to Rennes, the man was suspected of having taken the road towards the Emerald Coast, "his close relations fearing that he would put an end to his days", specifies a gendarme.

The gendarmes were able to locate the victim on Pointe du Grouin shortly before midnight thanks to his mobile phone. In the dark, the Dragon 50 helicopter confirmed the presence of man at the foot of the cliffs of the site located between Saint-Malo and Cancale. A tracking dog was dispatched to the site to locate the exact location of the victim. The man could not be helicopter-towed and was therefore reassembled in the middle of the night by the GRIMP firefighters around 3:20.

Unconscious, the man was breathing, specify the firemen. He was transported in absolute emergency to Pontchaillou hospital by the Civil Security helicopter.
