The ban means that you are not allowed to burn in forest and land. You can only cook at the prepared barbecue places for the purpose of cooking, says RäddSam Mälardalen in a press release.
It has previously been prohibited to fire along the Sörmland coast in the municipalities of Trosa, Gnesta, Nyköping and Oxelösund.
In the remaining municipalities of Vingåker and Katrineholm, Västra Sörmland's rescue service does not advise against fire.
"This is something we are looking at now, but it is the municipalities that formally decide on a fire ban," says Mattias Gårdholt, rescue manager at West Sörmland's rescue service.
