“I did not know what he would say,” Bolton answered in an interview with ABC News to the question of why he was afraid to leave Trump face to face with Putin.
Bolton described Putin as a smart and strong leader who knows his interlocutor.
Earlier, Trump said that Bolton “broke the law” by publishing memoirs that contain “huge amounts of classified information.”
A federal court in the Metropolitan District of Columbia dismissed a lawsuit by the US Department of Justice banning the publication of Bolton’s memoirs, as this would not prevent “irreparable damage”.
