The Egyptian activist Mona Saif, sister of the arrested activist Alaa Abdel-Fattah, said that a group of women who described them as bullies assaulted her, her mother and sister in front of the Tora Prison Gate in Cairo today, Monday.

She added, on her Twitter account, that they were beaten and bitched, and all their belongings were stolen. Prison guard members were accused of keeping them away from the gate and pushing them towards the aggressors when they tried to take cover.

We are still
praying, and Sanaa was hit by a tattoo on her head and back, and more than one hit.
I begged to asphalt, and I have abrasions.
Mama was struck and torn.

They stole all of our need, just because the mobile was in Arabic.
They stole our bags, our money, our cards, every need,
and the interior didn't just watch, pic.twitter.com/SadNjAVt6F

It is noteworthy that the mother of Alaa Abdel-Fattah continued for weeks weeks standing outside the prison gates where her son is staying to demand his visit and reassurance about him, as he continues his hunger strike to protest against his remand and prevent him from visiting.

The image of his mother lying on the floor in front of the prison, in a deeply deplorable state, caused widespread sympathy, and activists demanded the release of Alaa.

Security forces arrested Alaa on September 29 as part of a campaign of arrests that followed a wave of rare demonstrations across the country to demand the departure of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

At the time of his arrest, Alaa was carrying out the daily monitoring penalty in the police station, where he previously spent five years in prison after being convicted of violating the 2014 protest law in a case known to the media as the "Shura Council Events."
