Russians expect a four-day work week, recalled in Rostrud. According to RIA Novosti, the department said that Wednesday, June 24, will be a non-working day with salary.
“According to the signed decree, the coming Wednesday will be a non-working day with salary remaining. At the same time, the working hours on June 23 will remain the same, since Tuesday will not be considered pre-holiday, ”the department said.
Earlier, TASS, citing a statement from the Rostrud press service, also reported that the announcement on June 24th as a day off does not reflect wages and that the monthly salary of workers is not reduced.
“At the same time, employees paid separately, for the specified non-working day, are paid the appropriate remuneration, determined by the local regulatory act of the employer,” the agency quoted.
It is worth noting that, according to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, non-working holidays that fall during the period of vacation of citizens are not included in it. In this regard, there is more time to relax. However, since June 24 is not included in the official list of holidays, it will not be possible to extend the vacation due to this date.
Recall that the Victory Parade was postponed by decision of the head of state Vladimir Putin in connection with the situation with the spread of coronavirus infection. On May 9, a number of Russian cities hosted only air parades, as well as holiday fireworks.
On May 29, the president signed a decree on holding full-fledged Victory parades throughout the country on June 24 - on the same date a parade was held 75 years ago - in 1945.
The event will be attended by foot and mechanized convoys - 225 pieces of equipment, 14 thousand soldiers and officers, as well as military calculations from 19 states.
In addition, an air show will be held. Representatives of 13 foreign delegations will join the parade. In the evening of June 24 at 22.00 an artillery salute will be given.
New day off
It is worth noting that June 24 is not the only day off that appeared in the calendar of Russians this year due to the situation with coronavirus infection.
July 1 was also declared non-working - the day of all-Russian voting on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
As on any day off, employees who come to work that day are entitled to a salary of at least double.
Failure to pay the day off on the day of the nationwide vote on constitutional amendments would be a violation of the law by the employer, said Pavel Krasheninnikov, chairman of the State Duma committee on state building and legislation, during the Rossiyskaya Gazeta hotline.
“Such actions can be challenged and exacted not only what is supposed to be, but also moral damage. I don’t think there will be such employers who will begin to do so, ”the deputy emphasized.
Holiday Compensation
Meanwhile, the Federation Council proposed to compensate for the unplanned weekend. The head of the economic department of the Federation Council, Andrei Kutepov, sent a bill to the Ministry of Labor on the reduction of the New Year holidays in 2021 from January 1 to 3 for review.
“In order to compensate for the number of forced non-working days to support the economies of enterprises and organizations, the bill proposes to reduce the New Year holidays in 2021 and make the working week from January 4 to 8, with the exception of January 7,” the document says.
Kutepov stressed that his initiative provides for changes only in 2021.
Kutepov’s proposal was supported by Gennady Onishchenko, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science.
“I believe that it is necessary to reduce them even more: on December 31 in the afternoon to leave work, and on January 2 in friendly ranks already open a new working year,” Onishchenko said in an interview with Sputnik radio.
In turn, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin does not have a definite position on this proposal.
“We know that every year, in different manifestations, a discussion is held on this topic. Nevertheless, there is an established practice from which we proceed, ”Peskov emphasized.
