The conservative populist Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) , of the country's president, Aleksandar Vucic , won the parliamentary elections this Sunday, with 62.7% of the votes , according to a projection reported by public television RTS.
This estimate is based on the calculations of the NGO 'Center for Free Elections and Democracy' (CeSID) , which places the hitherto co-governing Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) in second place , with 10.4% of the votes.
The SNS and SPS have governed together since 2012 and since 2017 Ana Brnabic is the prime minister, although the country's politics are dominated by Vucic, whom the opposition criticizes for his autocratic style .
