An Israeli newspaper published an article revealing what he described as the new "secret friends" in Yemen, in reference to the southern-backed Emirati Transitional Council - which controls areas in southern Yemen, especially Socotra.

The author of the article, Avil Schneider, says in the newspaper "Israel Today" that a new country was announced a few weeks ago behind closed doors in the Middle East, explaining that the Transitional Council took control of Aden and other provinces in the southwestern region of Yemen led by Aidarous al-Zubaidi.

The author mentions some indications that he described positively about the "interim" attitudes toward Israel, although there has been no official diplomatic relationship with him until now.

Then, Hani bin Brik, deputy chairman of the Transitional Council, is quoted on Twitter as welcoming normalization with Israel, and his comment that "Arabs and Israelis agree on a two-state solution and Arab countries normalize their relations with Israel."

The writer pointed out that many Israelis responded to these words, and wished "a new state" or self-rule in Yemen much success. He quoted unnamed sources as saying that Israel is in contact with the new government in southern Yemen from behind the scenes.

He also quoted who he described as a friend working at the airport that he noticed in January that Yemeni citizens are not Jews who came to Israel, stressing that this is not usual since there are no diplomatic relations, indicating that it is a sign that the positions of Arab countries in the Middle East towards Israel "It changes for the better," he says.

And the Southern Transitional Council declared last April 25 a state of emergency in the city of Aden and all southern Yemeni governorates, and assumed it self-management, instead of the local authorities of the internationally recognized government of President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, after the Riyadh agreement signed between The two sides on November 5 last year.
