Öländsk grocery store hires security companies to handle congestion between summer guests

Starting during the midsummer weekend, there are guards in place who will ensure that the social distance works in the store.

- So far we have only received good reactions from the customers, says Max Teern, who is the store manager. 

After easing travel restrictions, it is expected that tourists will be crowded in Öland this summer. Borgholm has set a limit of max 150 people in the store. When the quota is filled, there is a queue outside. 

- We have not yet reached the figure during the midsummer weekend which has been quieter this year, says Max Teern. 

Inside the shop, a number of changes have been made, such as various cough protection and a hundred markings in the floor. According to Max Teern, the majority of customers are thinking about keeping their distance - but taking in guards adds weight to the decisions to reduce the spread of infection.

- Now we have done as best we can. Then it's up to everyone to show consideration. It will be both an exciting and challenging summer, he concludes.
