UN Human Rights Agency Passes Resolution to Strongly Condemn Death of African-American Man Enforced by Violent Law Enforcement

  This newly adopted resolution was proposed by Burkina Faso and other countries and is entitled "Preventing the excessive use of force and other human rights violations by law enforcement personnel, and promoting and protecting the human rights and fundamental freedoms of Africans and people of African descent."

  The resolution said that while the UN Human Rights Council strongly condemned Freud’s death, it also condemned the ongoing racial discrimination and violence against Africans and people of African descent by the relevant law enforcement agencies exposed by the incident.

  The resolution stated that the UN Human Rights Council was shocked by the rise of violent thinking based on racial or ethnic prejudice, such as violence, racial hatred, hate speech, hate crimes, and neo-Nazism, and deplored the violent treatment of peaceful demonstrators by relevant law enforcement agencies.

  The resolution requires the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to prepare a report on systemic racism and human rights violations by law enforcement agencies as soon as possible, review the measures taken by relevant governments to respond to peaceful protests against racism, and continue to pay attention to the consequences of Freud’s death Follow-up events.
