During the meeting, delegates of the two countries discussed efforts to increase bilateral trade, and the United States affirmed its appreciation for the significant progress that the UAE continues to make in implementing open economic and investment policies and its continued efforts to promote regional economic prosperity.

Regarding the broader commercial interaction, the UAE expressed concern about steel and aluminum tariffs, while the United States expressed appreciation for the constructive bilateral dialogue that is still taking place regarding the new expanded requirements related to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States.
