Francisco Javier Iglesias , the father of the second vice president, Pablo Iglesias, has filed a lawsuit against the PP spokesman in Congress , Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, for claiming in parliament that the leader of Podemos is "the son of a terrorist."

According to the lawsuit, to which Europa Press has had access, the father of Iglesias considers that his right to honor has been violated, and asks the PP leader for compensation of 18,000 euros for moral damages.

The second vice president already announced at the time, after hearing the words of Álvarez de Toledo, that he was going to recommend his father to take legal action against her.

The spokesperson justified her claim by arguing that Iglesias himself recognized in an article in 2013 that his father had been a member of the Revolutionary Antifascist and Patriot Front (FRAP), which operated in the last years of Francoism and the Transition and did not dissolve until 1978.
