From Le Havre to Vanves via Paris, four members of the government will be engaged in the second round of the municipal elections on June 28, the rest of the minister-candidates having been elected or eliminated in the first round.

- LE HAVRE, CENTER OF ATTENTION

The spotlight will obviously be on Le Havre, stronghold of Edouard Philippe, where the Prime Minister faces a communist candidate, the deputy Jean-Paul Lecoq.

Mr. Philippe came out on top of the first round (43.6%) but his voice reserve seems weak. Mr. Lecoq (35.88%) hopes to rally largely to the left and the abstainers to bring down the head of government who, in the event of defeat, will no doubt have to leave Matignon.

- THREE SECRETARIES OF STATE IN ÎLE-DE-FRANCE

In Paris, the Secretary of State for Gender Equality Marlène Schiappa is on track in the 14th arrondissement, like the Secretary of State for Industry Agnès Pannier-Runacher in the 16th. Ms. Schiappa is in 2nd position on her list and Ms. Pannier-Runacher in 7th place. But the two suffer the setbacks of The Republic marching in the capital, between the withdrawal after the dissemination of explicit videos by Benjamin Griveaux, then the resounding statements of his replacement, the former Minister of Health Agnès Buzyn.

In Vanves (Hauts-de-Seine), the Secretary of State for Education Gabriel Attal is in second place on the LREM list (23.07% in the first round). But the presidential party is embarked on a difficult triangular deal with the UDI list (47.23%) and the environmental list (22.32%).

- FIVE ELECTED OFFICIALS, ONE ELIMINATED ON THE FIRST ROUND

Five ministers were elected in the first round on March 15. Two of them as head of list: the Minister of Budget Gérald Darmanin in Tourcoing (North) and that of Culture Franck Riester in Coulommiers (Seine-et-Marne).

The Minister of Communities Sébastien Lecornu was re-elected in his stronghold of Vernon (Eure), but in 3rd position. The Secretary of State for Veterans Affairs Geneviève Darrieussecq, former mayor of Mont-de-Marsan, was also renewed, but in 4th position.

Finally, the Minister of Relations with the Parliament Marc Fesneau obtained 91.3% of the votes on the list of his village of Marchenoir (Loire-et-Cher), but will not sit as mayor.

Secretary of State for Transport Jean-Baptiste Djebbari saw the LREM list eliminated in the first round in Limoges (7.65%). He was in 8th place.
