Zhao Lijian responded that the Xinjiang-related issue is not a question of human rights, ethnicity, and religion, but an issue of anti-terrorism and anti-secession. The anti-terrorism documentary in Xinjiang illustrates the necessity of anti-terrorism and de-radicalization work in Xinjiang with specific cases and clear facts, and demonstrates the tremendous efforts China has made to this end. The counter-terrorism and de-radicalization efforts taken by the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region government are reasonable and legal, effectively curbing the momentum of frequent terrorist activities. There have been no cases of violent terrorism in Xinjiang for three and a half years, which guarantees the rights of life, health and development of the people of all ethnic groups to the greatest extent. The international community has generally made positive comments on the Chinese government's policy of governing Xinjiang.
Zhao Lijian pointed out that the relevant bills of the United States ignored the facts, maliciously attacked the Chinese government’s governance policy and the human rights situation in Xinjiang, tried to stigmatize Xinjiang’s anti-terrorism, anti-secession and de-extremification measures, and pursued double standards on the issue of anti-terrorism. Resolutely oppose this.
