A household refuse collection tour turned drama this Friday morning in Grisolles, a town in Tarn-et-Garonne. While he was behind the garbage truck, a 39-year-old garbage collector was struck by the machine which then rolled on it, indicates Radio Totem.
The ripeur, 39 years old, died on the spot, the rescue services could not revive him. His colleague who was driving the garbage truck had to be transported to the hospital in shock. An investigation was opened by the prosecution as is customary in such circumstances.
Criminal identification technicians were on site to determine the circumstances of this dramatic accident, as was the labor inspectorate. On its Facebook page, the town hall of Grisolles indicated that the tours were all interrupted and the teams repatriated to the depot.
