Extraordinary
funding continues on the Department's account In just three months, more than € 160 million was donated to Civil Protection to deal with the Coronavirus emergency. Never has such a high figure been reached in the collections opened for previous emergencies. On March 18 - as provided for under the "Cura Italia" Law Decree - the Department of Civil Protection opened a bank account whose donations are aimed at the purchase of individual protection devices, respirators, fans, medical-surgical devices and preparation of intensive care places.

The collection reached record numbers: the donations received by bank transfers, on 18 June, amounted to 165,771,088 euros. Compared to what collected, 147,840,545 million (approximately 90% of the total) have already been used and in detail: 128,474,176 euros for personal protective equipment, 14,405,456 euros were spent on fans and 4,960,913 euros for the cost of transporting sanitary materials.

"The results achieved during these difficult months confirm the generosity and solidarity of the Italians" said the Head of the Borrelli Department. “I want to thank all the large and small donors who wanted to give their support and contribution during the Coronavirus emergency phases. The collection continues, but thanks to what we have received, it has been possible to purchase personal protective equipment and respiratory devices indispensable in intensive care ”. In parallel, the Department of Civil Protection with the ordinance n. 660 of 5 April established a fund dedicated to supporting the family members of health personnel who lost their lives in this emergency. As of June 18, the amount raised for this Fund is € 10,153,833. Also for this initiative, the Department thanks the small and large donors who have made it possible to reach such an important figure.

Monitoring: Rt below 1 national level but epidemic not ended
"Throughout the Peninsula, new cases of infection were diagnosed in the current monitoring week, with cases increasing compared to the previous monitoring week in several autonomous Regions and Provinces", even if "an Rt <1 at national level is confirmed and almost in all the Regions and autonomous provinces ", underlines the weekly monitoring report on the spread of the new coronavirus in Italy of the Ministry of Health and Higher Institute of Health, which analyzed the data relating to the period 8-14 June 2020." Although this feedback can be partly attributed to the intense screening and investigation of cases with identification and monitoring of close contacts, these signals - warns the document of the control room - should not be underestimated as they highlight how the epidemic of COVID in Italy -19 is not over and how the epidemiological situation is extremely fluid ".
