On the morning of June 18, 2020, the Intermediate People's Court of Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province publicly sentenced the former party group member and deputy director of the National Tobacco Monopoly Bureau to accept bribery. Confiscate all personal property; recover the property and the fruits of Zhao Hongshun's bribery crimes and hand it over to the State Treasury. Zhao Hongshun said in court that he would obey the court's decision and would not appeal.
After trial, it was ascertained that from 2002 to 2018, the defendant, Zhao Hong, smoothly served as the deputy director of the Economic Operation Department of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration, the deputy director of the Anhui Tobacco Monopoly Administration, the director of the Development Planning Department of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration, and the deputy director. Convenience in position provides assistance to related units and individuals in contracting tobacco label printing and tobacco advertising business, promotion of positions, etc., and illegally accepts the property given by the above units and individuals, which is equivalent to RMB 90,324,309.
The Huai'an Intermediate People's Court held that the above-mentioned behavior of defendant Zhao Hongshun constituted a crime of bribery according to law. The amount of bribes taken by Zhao Hongshun is particularly huge. In view of the fact that he truthfully confessed the criminal facts after arriving at the case, he proactively handed over most of the criminal facts that the case-handling organs had not yet grasped. He pleaded guilty and confessed his guilt. The court then made the above judgment.
