To protect President Vladimir Putin from possible infection of the Coronavirus, the Russian authorities have decided to construct sterile tunnels that must be crossed by all visitors who will meet him in his personal residence office or at the Kremlin headquarters.

According to several international media outlets, since the outbreak of the Coruna virus, President Putin has been working most of his time in his private residence in Novo Ogaryo, on the outskirts of the capital, Moscow.

And to meet with President Putin, the protocol became a requirement for visitors to pass through a tunnel equipped with a device that sprinkles them from all sides with a sterile product, as shown in a video on the social networking site Twitter posted by Russian journalists charged with covering presidential activities.

According to the authorities of the Penza region, where the device was manufactured, this device, which looks like an air sieve, "guarantees the security of the head of state and all who visit it." "These purges are also installed in the Kremlin, and there are even two," presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

The Russian official added that those devices were installed at the height of the spread of the epidemic, and those preventive restrictions remain in effect for visitors who wish to speak with Vladimir Putin, noting that these security measures are "justified and understandable."

The machine was manufactured by Motor Technologies, a company that specializes in automatic car cleaning machines. The device installed at President Putin's residence is able to measure visitor temperature, and is equipped with facial recognition technology.

According to the Kremlin, President Putin is regularly undergoing a medical test to uncover the possibility of HIV infection, and his visitors are also undergoing the same examination.

Despite these measures, many senior Russian officials have been infected with the Corona virus, such as Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Prime Minister Mikhail Michosten, and many ministers and deputies.

Last March, the President shook hands, without a mask, the chief physician of one of the main hospitals treating people infected with the Coronavirus. Shortly thereafter, doctor Denis Brutsenko announced that he was infected with the virus.

Official figures indicate that as of Wednesday, Russia had recorded more than 553,000 cases of Corona virus and 7,478 deaths.
