- During the morning I gave my speech. I believe that the evidence against the man is substantiated and that he should be sentenced to eight years in prison, says Prosecutor Moa Blomqvist.

Thursday's final pleadings in the case are held at Uppsala District Court behind closed doors.

The investigation has grown

The investigation into the case has been ongoing since the turn of the year when a woman reported the man, who is in his 45s, for rape. Since then, the investigation has grown and the police have come into contact with a total of 19 women whom the man is supposed to have exposed to various types of sex crimes.

In several of the cases involving rape, the women should have met the man in the belief that it was a normal dating situation, according to chamber prosecutor Moa Blomqvist.

- These are not assault rapes but rather they are dating rapes, they have met and been at home with one of the parties. There has been a sexual assault there, Moa Blomqvist has previously told SVT News Uppsala.

Denies the majority of the charges

The man is being prosecuted for ten cases of rape against seven women, 19 cases of abusive photography against 17 women, two cases of sexual service purchases, and one case of child pornography offenses by portraying plaintiffs who were under 18 at the time.

Husband's lawyer Hanna Lindblom has previously told SVT News Uppsala that her client admits that he has secretly photographed naked women. Other charges deny the man.
