22.08 police and ambulance were alerted to Degerbygränd in Rinkeby, in northwestern Stockholm, after a man and a woman in their 70s were cut in an apartment.
- When we arrived at the scene we met the knife-injured man, who stated that the perpetrator was left in the apartment. A threatening situation arises and police release their service weapon and the man is injured in the leg. The injured woman is found in the apartment. Her injuries are considered minor, says police spokesman Per Fahlström.
The knife-injured man and the suspected knife-man who is in his 50s are taken by ambulance to hospital.
- They were awake and talkable, says Per Fahlström.
The police have launched a preliminary investigation into murder attempts and a special investigation led by prosecutors. The latter begins when a police officer fires his service weapon.
