• Atlanta: Police chief resigns when another young black man is shot dead by a white officer

The now-former white police officer who shot and killed the black man Rayshard Brooks last week in Atlanta , was arrested Thursday after being charged with "murder . " Garrett Rolfe , 27, has been sent to the Fulton County Jail.

Local prosecutor Paul Howard had issued an arrest warrant against him and had given him one day to turn himself in to the authorities.
