Gällivare hospital received a covid patient per hour

The spread of infection in Gällivare appears to continue to increase and, according to the chief physician and the medically responsible physician Ola Wulf, many covid patients arrived at the hospital on Thursday afternoon.

- We are afraid that we do not have the resources to take care of all patients if it continues like this for the next few days. We have also switched to summer staffing from today, and it makes it even more difficult for us to keep all our places open, he says.

When it comes to covid patients, Gällivare Hospital has planned for five patients with an increase of up to ten patients in the worst case.

- But we have received one covid patient per hour during the afternoon so now we have already gone over those five patients. At the moment we have eight confirmed confirmed covid patients, and then we have still printed and sent home two that are still contagious, but no longer need intensive care, says Ola Wulf, medically responsible doctor.

Ola Wulf has seen with his own eyes that many Gällivare residents have not realized that it is a sharp situation and that everyone must adhere to the rules of conduct, even in everyday life.

- I myself have seen that people do not respect the rules of conduct that exist. A business chain had a guard, queue and entrance so that only one in each family would go in, but still the whole family goes in. It worries me that people do not understand the seriousness despite the massive information campaign we have. They do not understand what we are doing on the inside of the walls of this hospital. This is how we can't have it.
