It was in London that Emmanuel Macron chose to express himself. London, a city to which the Head of State decided to hand over the Legion of Honor. But before that, Emmanuel Macron also wanted to mark the event symbolically in France. And first of all by meeting one of the last four companions of the Liberation still alive, Hubert Germain, 99 years old.

A first emotional step and a first message from the president during this aside: the example of General de Gaulle must inspire the young generations. General De Gaulle who is a political icon to which Emmanuel Macron likes to refer. In his entourage, it is explained that the celebrations of this year De Gaulle are up to the respect which it carries to the general, the exemplary figure of a man who knew how to adapt the country to the circumstances.

Following in the footsteps of Charles de Gaulle is a classic in France. Emmanuel Macron is no exception to the rule, but adds his mark by multiplying the sequences. He visited the Liberation Museum before taking part in the traditional ceremony at Mont-Valérien, in Suresnes.

A ceremony marked by the passage of the Patrol of France and the Red Arrows of the Royal Air Force who must then fly over London together to symbolize in the air the eternal Franco-British friendship .
