A 32-year-old man was arrested and placed in police custody in Montpellier (Hérault), suspected of having impersonated a gendarme, and of having sexually assaulted two women, learned 20 minutes from the police. .

A few weeks ago, a young woman had filed a complaint with the police station, saying that she had approached near a university city by an individual, who presented himself as a specialist in the fight against drugs. Pretexting a safety palpation, the suspect is then accused of having sexually assaulted the victim.

He denies the facts

On June 8, another young woman told the police that she had been accosted by a man, posing as a plainclothes gendarme, once again a specialist in the fight against drugs. He is suspected of having asked the young woman to drive him home, to conduct a thorough search, said the police. Once in the apartment, he allegedly sexually assaulted him.

On June 14, the suspect was returned to his address, the victim did not open it. She notified the police, who managed to arrest her soon after.

Placed in police custody, the man denied the facts, said the police. Pending trial, he was released and placed under judicial supervision. The investigations are continuing. Police believe there may be other victims.
