Two police officers were slightly injured, Saturday evening, while they intervened in the sensitive area of ​​Chemin-Bas d'Avignon, in Nîmes (Gard), learned 20 Minutes from the police. One suffered trauma to the neck, the other suffered injuries to the left ankle and jaw.

Police from the anti-crime brigade attempted to arrest a man suspected of drug trafficking. In the bag he was carrying, 210 euros in cash and cannabis resin were reportedly found, police said. When the suspect was picked up by the police, around 20 individuals were said to have surrounded them, and the man was said to have escaped.

A 17 year old minor placed in police custody

Several individuals are suspected of having beaten the police, who left the scene, before returning with reinforcements. Two individuals, suspected of having taken part in the police, were arrested: a 17-year-old minor and a 19-year-old man. They were remanded in custody.

The suspect, who managed to escape, was not found.
