And here comes the Premier League: after three months of interruption due to the coronavirus, the all-powerful English Championship resumes Wednesday with a gala poster between Manchester City and Arsenal (9:15 p.m.), decisive for Liverpool who dreams of being sacred Sunday against Everton.

Starting again with two late matches of match day 28, the Premier League offers itself on its first evening a major clash between Pep Guardiola's Manchester City and Arsenal, trained by its former assistant Mikel Arteta. With a big stake: a defeat of the Citizens (2nd, 57 pts) would pave the way for a Liverpool title (1st, 82 pts) from Sunday (8:00 p.m.) during the derby against Everton, this time on behalf of the 30th day.

The scenario would be almost dreamed of for the Reds. Worn from the title for 30 years, Liverpool supporters ask for nothing better than a trophy gleaned from the local rival. The only downside: the derby, usually hot, will be played behind closed doors, the sanitary conditions for a return of fans in the stands not being met.

To snatch this long-awaited title, the Reds will still have to find their sparkling level at the start of the season, which saw them take a gigantic 25 point lead in the league, and not that of their last weeks of competition, end February and early March, who saw them get out in a few days of the English Cup and the Champions League and suffer their first defeat of the season in the league at Watford (3-0).

- The C1 in everyone's mind -

Wednesday's match is also of great importance to Arsenal. The Gunners, only 9th in the championship before its interruption (with 40 pts), need a victory to continue believing in 4th place, qualifying for the Champions League and currently occupied by Chelsea (48 pts), behind Leicester third (53 pts).

The C1 will also be in everyone's mind on Friday (9:15 p.m.) with the reception of Manchester United (5th, 45 pts) by Tottenham (8th, 41 pts). Two clubs with opposite trajectories before the interruption of the championship: the Red Devils remained on two wins and a draw in three games, Tottenham on two losses and a draw.

Finally, if the title is not played by then, it could be put into play again Monday, at the end of the 30th day, which will see Manchester City receive Burnley (10th, 39 pts). Even if, for the "Citizens", the objective now consists in protecting their second place from the threat of Leicester.
