The results came close, as well, for the respondents in the poll published in the Arabic language, as about 65% of the respondents confirmed that the Dubai Metro represents their preferred means of transportation, so that taxis occupy the second place, as 19% chose them as the first means of transportation, compared to 10% chose public buses , And 6% voted for marine transportation.
The executive director of the Public Transportation Corporation at the authority, Ahmed Bahrouzian, confirmed to «Emirates Today», finally, that the application of strict health procedures to ensure the safety of users of public transportation needs an additional time in excess of the time normally required on passenger journeys on the metro, which carried the authority To implement some scenarios to reduce the waiting time of passengers and not delay them, whether during their travel on the metro or on public buses, which includes reducing the time of distillation between metro trips and public buses, as well as increasing their number to accommodate a larger number of passengers while maintaining safety distances between them during trips.
Reports and studies conducted by the authority indicate that the mass transit system in Dubai has become a major artery in the movement of people in various regions of the Emirate of Dubai, and that it has managed to bring about a change in the culture of the population of different classes towards the use of public transportation, as the population has begun to realize the benefits and advantages The use of mass transportation in terms of health and economics, especially with the high level of safety, and reduce the costs of using vehicles from fuel, vehicle maintenance, and others.
