- We see that the effects of the corona pandemic correspond somewhere around SEK 12-13 million in an increased loss for Kalmar Öland airport. That's why this support is so welcome, says Ronny Lindberg, airport manager.

For some time SAS has been flying to and from Kalmar and Stockholm every weekday. Otherwise it is quiet at the airport. The staff is still laid off at 80 percent.

- This year is a lost year even though we would get most of the money the government now wants to invest. Unfortunately, I do not think it is likely that the money will cover the need, as there are many airports to share.

It is the Swedish Transport Administration that will manage and pay the increased operating support to the municipalities. Then it is the respective municipality that finally pays the money to their respective airports.
