Swiss judicial authorities have recently published a wanted notice to identify the owner of gold found on a train. A package containing at least 3.4 kg of the precious metal had indeed been discovered last October in one of the wagons of a train of the Swiss Federal Railways (CFF) traveling between St. Gallen and Lucerne, relayed Le Nouvelliste .

This press release from the public prosecutor at the origin does not specify the nature of the container in which the precious metal was, nor any date or time of its discovery. Capital argues that this omission could be due to the fact that only the person concerned knows these information.

A value of 170,000 euros

The value of the treasure left on the train is estimated by officials at 182,000 Swiss francs, or just over 170,000 euros. Despite the market value of the abandoned cargo, no one has come forward yet to recover it.

Extensive investigations, carried out to determine who owns the gold, were also unsuccessful. Local law stipulates that its owner has a period of five years to claim his property. After this period, he will no longer be able to assert his rights.
