The Italian Civil Protection Agency said that the number of Covid-19 illnesses caused by the Corona virus rose by only 26 today, compared to 44 yesterday, Sunday, at the lowest daily rate since the second of last March.
New cases also fell slightly to 303 today, Monday from 338 yesterday, Sunday.
The agency reported that the total number of deaths since the outbreak of the epidemic in Italy on February 21 is currently 34,371, in the fourth highest global rate after the United States, Britain and Brazil.
The number of confirmed cases reached 237290, ranked seventh in the world.
The number of people registered as carriers of the disease decreased to 25,909 from 26,274 the previous day.
There are 207 people in intensive care today, down from 209 yesterday, Sunday, in a continuation of a long-running decline.
The agency said that the number of Corona exams reached 2.864 million people as of Monday, compared to 2,847 on Sunday, among the Italian population of approximately 60 million.
