The Minister of the City Julien Denormandie announces Sunday in Parisien of new "testings" in the companies in order to detect discriminations, in the aftermath of demonstrations against the police violence and racism across France.

"We must fight against discrimination on a daily basis," said the minister, citing in particular the first testings organized by the government which had enabled "to pin 7 companies out of the 40 tested".

The testing consists in sending for the same job offer two identical CVs with as unique differences the origin of the candidate and / or an address in a popular district.

Mr. Denormandie also announces the imminent arrival of a decree obliging "all real estate agencies and professional associations to undergo training in the fight against discrimination" every three years.

Finally, Julien Denormandie advocates the deletion of the word "race" from the preamble to the Constitution, which states that "every human being, without distinction of race, religion or belief, has inalienable and sacred rights".

Sunday morning, in the columns of the JDD, another minister, Gabriel Attal, worries about "fatal forces" which would seek to prosper on the resentment of the youth to "impose a race struggle". The minister also calls for "a collective effort to save the youngest" in the face of the economic crisis, and indicates that the sustainability of the civic reserve set up during the Covid crisis could be one avenue.

The association La Maison des Potes, which fights against discrimination, welcomed in a press release the announcements of Julien Denormandie, but regretted that they were not "more offensive".

"The interest of testings, unlike ethnic statistics (which are only of interest to those who want places according to quotas), is to be able to pin down acts of discrimination in order to be able to sanction them, but we must now that the testings (...) be followed by investigations by the labor inspectorate and the public prosecutor within the pinned companies ", affirms the association.

"Doing testings just to do" Name and Shame "is not enough. It is as if we were content to publish the names of those who do 160 km / h on our roads instead of removing them the permit and make them pay fines, "she said.

She calls for combining the testings "with the punished discrimination sanctions" and requests to be received by the Minister.
