The French authorities put out a fire on a nuclear submarine that was undergoing maintenance work in the port of Toulon, in the south of France.

The fire broke out at 10:35 am yesterday, at the front of the attack submarine "La Perle", and it was extinguished at midnight on Friday, Saturday, after the intervention of 100 firefighters, and received support from more than 150 people.

And "No one was injured" in the submarine fire, which was under maintenance in one of the Toulon Naval Base basins.

The French National Navy declared that "the nuclear danger associated with nuclear fuel is zero after being withdrawn from the tanks within the framework of the technical stoppage. There were no weapons (missiles or ammunition) or batteries on board the submarine."

This submarine is among the six French attack nuclear submarines that entered service in 1993, and was transferred to the dock last January for maintenance and modernization work expected to take 18 months.
