“For the first time, we published data that characterize how the cause of death from a coeval infection was recorded in April,” she said during a press conference.

Golikova added that in the official reports, mortality from coronavirus infection is divided into two columns: where COVID-19 was fully identified and where the disease may have been but not identified (these cases also relate to the main cause of mortality).

“This figure can still be specified by the results of post-mortem autopsy, but most likely by April it will already be inactive, since a sufficient amount of time has already passed,” the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

Golikova noted that out of 1660 cases where the main cause of death was indicated as coronavirus, in 390 cases the virus was not confirmed by laboratory tests.

Earlier, Tatyana Golikova said that the peak incidence of coronavirus in Russia occurred on May 11.

As of June 13, 520,129 cases of coronavirus were detected in Russia.

274,641 people recovered, 6,829 died.
