Fourteen members of the RAID, 18 departmental security agents, twelve agents of the departmental intervention company and seven members of the anti-crime brigade, or around 50 police officers, were dispatched to the scene to carry out the arrest, specifies the prosecutor of the Republic Philippe Astruc.
A stolen safe discovered in the camp
At around 10:30 p.m. Thursday night, the BAC police at night had spotted a Renault Twingo vehicle, in which were two people. The police suspected the car of having been used for the burglary of a business, located rue de la Donnelière in Rennes. LAC followed the vehicle to the Travelers area and managed to stop the driver, a 40-year-old man. Another individual fired them with a shotgun for several minutes. The police left the scene by boarding the driver.
This Friday morning, they arrested the man who had hit them. Aged 35, he was arrested and placed in police custody. He could be prosecuted for "attempted murder of persons depositing public authority". On the spot, the police found a safe that had been stolen from the store.
