07 December 2017 "With this action, we launch an international campaign of attack against men, structures and means of repression. Each with the tool he deems most appropriate and if he wishes, contributing to the debate". Thus an anarchist group that signs itself "Informal anarchy federation - international revolutionary front, Cell Santiago Maldonado" claims the attack on a portal of anarchist movements against a Carabinieri barracks in Rome.

"On the night of 6/7 December - the group writes in a long claim text, whose reliability is being examined by the investigators - was placed in the police station of the San Giovanni district, Rome, steel thermos with 1.6 kg of explosive".

The attack took place in front of the Carabinieri station in via Britannia, in Rome. The rudimentary device would have been composed of a metal container, with pyric dust and primer inside. The modalities would recall in some respects the bomb that exploded in May in the parking lot of the post office in via Marmorata, also in the capital. The deflagration caused damage to the door, but no injuries.

The Prosecutor of Rome has opened an investigation assuming the crime of "act of terrorism with an explosive device" against unknown persons. Deputy Prosecutor Francesco Caporale, coordinator of the prosecutors of the anti-terrorist 'pool', is awaiting information on what has happened by the military of the Ros and those of the Provincial Command of Rome.

Gabrielli: we have quite clear ideas about the authors
"We have quite clear ideas about who could have put this device and, therefore, we will develop these ideas that I don't think should be made explicit," said the chief of police, Franco Gabrielli, speaking of the rudimentary bomb detonated in front of the Carabinieri station.

Gabrielli, in conversation with the reporters on the sidelines of an event in Rome, added: "It is a serious fact but we must not amplify it very much. These episodes have also occurred in the past. I would therefore like to give a message of reassurance. In some respects - Gabrielli concluded - I consider the placement made near the editorial staff of an important editorial group much more serious ".

Pinotti: cowardly attack
"My presence here is testimony to the solidarity, my personal and the whole government's, for the cowardly attack that took place this morning. I feel serious that we wanted to hit a police station and so in the center of a community precisely because the soul of the Carabinieri is being among the people. It was a risk that could affect not only the station but also all the citizens around here living ". This was stated by the Minister of Defense, Roberta Pinotti, who visited the Carabinieri station in San Giovanni.

"I want to remind you that the Carabinieri stations are a fundamental element for the safety of a community - underlined the minister - to which all citizens look not only when they have problems like crime can be but even when they feel the need to be reassured or have advice. "

Raggi: a very serious gesture
"Solidarity with the Carabinieri following the explosion of the bomb in San Giovanni this morning. I consider this gesture very serious. We must shed light as soon as possible. The institutions are united". So the mayor of Rome Virginia Raggi on Twitter.
