Millions in cash and 22 weapons - the result of Operation Rimfrost in the Mitt region

- Those who thought you could breathe out are completely wrong. It will be just the opposite, says Carin Götblad, police chief for Region Mitt.

The national special event Operation Rimfrost started last November after a series of serious acts of violence in Malmö. One of the goals was to reduce the number of fires and blasts.

The police are now ending their efforts and up to and including yesterday, 16 shootings had occurred since the turn of the year in Region Mitt. Notably, none of these 16 shootings occurred in Uppsala. Throughout last year, the figure landed on 52 shootings.

- Of course, it is that Rimfrost has had an effect. The resource we have received is not huge, but it has had a great effect thanks to professional work. I am very proud and we have received a lot of praise for this effort on how we worked, says Carin Götblad.
