The bath is a large facility with three pools, a café and picnic areas. It has capacity for 3,000 people, but to reduce the spread of infection, a maximum of 300 visitors are valid until the corona crisis has settled. The bath will open the gates to the public on Monday and will remain open until August.

Should increase swimming skills

Until now, Rinkeby-Kista and Spånga-Tensta were the only districts in Stockholm that lacked bathing outdoors, and discussions about building a new bath have been going on for decades. The reason why everything went out in time is, among other things, that the area is a cultural reserve and that there is a lot to take into account, says property councilor Dennis Wedin (M).

It was the former S-led political majority in the city of Stockholm who first decided to build the bath. The hope is that it will increase swimming skills in the Järva area. In the summer of 2018, the first spade roof for the building was taken. In the end, the bill was SEK 230 million, which was within budget.
