The gendarmes found him asleep on the sofa. Thursday, a man was sentenced to eleven months in prison for driving drunk in May 2018 in Elliant, east of Quimper (Finistère). The man had been the victim of an accident but had left the premises to return to his home, reports Ouest-France . It was his ex-wife who alerted the emergency services, worried about the fate of their three children. One of the children, the only one in the vehicle, was found at the home where his father slept. He was clearly injured. Two hours after the accident, the man had a blood alcohol level of 1.60 grams per liter of blood.

The criminal court sentenced him to eleven months' imprisonment, which the accused will have to carry out under electronic surveillance. Already convicted twice for driving under the influence of alcohol, the man is prohibited from passing his driver's license for two years. His vehicle was confiscated and a fine of 500 euros was imposed on him, says Ouest-France .
