The report said that regardless of whether the UK and the EU can finally reach a free trade agreement, the UK will implement a temporary "simple customs clearance" policy for incoming EU goods at ports such as Dover.

However, the newspaper said that officials admitted that goods exported from the UK to the EU may face a comprehensive customs inspection when entering France.

The British "Financial Times" quoted anonymous officials as saying that the UK may announce news about border inspection as early as the 12th.

The UK left the EU on January 31 this year. In February, the British government stated that after the end of the Brexit transition period, it would exercise control over EU imports at the border.

According to the plan reported by the Financial Times, agricultural products will not enter border checkpoints, and animal products will not be immediately required to provide health certificates. The plan will only allow controlled goods to undergo temporary inspections, and industrial products are expected to benefit from these transitional measures of delaying customs declarations and tariff payments.
