The alarm about the shooting came in to the police at 21.32 on Friday evening. Several people had then called the police after hearing a number of shots in the Gottsunda district in Uppsala.
- We go there with several patrols and can in different ways confirm that there has been a shooting. We have secured some technical evidence in place, there is a person detained in custody and we have started a preliminary investigation into attempted murder, says Tobias Ahlén, a spokesman for the police in the Mitt region.
According to the police, there is no information that anyone was injured in the shooting.
- There is no information that there are any injured people at present, says Tobias Ahlén.
The police have blocked off the scene and will hold interviews with people on the scene.
