The student, Hamdan Salem Al-Alawi, said: “I participated with my colleagues Abdullah Saif Al-Nuaimi and Hazaa Salem Al-Neyadi to complete the project of generating electrical energy from the sea waves within five months.”

He explained that «the motive behind the idea of ​​the device is that the largest proportion of the energy used in the state is non-renewable energy (oil), and therefore the thought was to find a clean and effective alternative, so the thinking was to benefit from sea waves in producing electricity, especially since sea waves continue throughout The year and throughout the day, unlike other sources of power generation, such as wind and sun, in addition to being suitable for the environment of the UAE, which has long beaches on the Arabian Gulf. ”

The device consists of a wave generator to run an electric power generator, which is transmitted via wires to the energy stores for use in lighting and operation of whole city devices, according to the number of electricity generators used in the device, and it also uses insulators to prevent its effect on marine creatures.

Al-Alwi pointed out that the idea of ​​generating energy from the movement of sea waves is distinguished from other ideas that are used in generating electric energy as it is less expensive than others, in addition to the fact that the device does not need strong waves to operate it, following that they conducted on the device model several experiments, inside the school, And it proved efficient in generating electricity.

The students participated in their project in the National Science, Technology and Innovation Festival organized by the Ministry of Education last February in the "Festival Arena - Dubai".
