  • The investigation into the death of a 23-year-old man with a stab on March 14 resulted in the arrest of four minors.
  • Two of them, residents of the Mosson, have been charged. The main suspect, suspected of being the author of the fatal blow, was placed in pre-trial detention.

Two miners were charged after a fatal stab. The events occurred on March 14, around midnight. A 23-year-old man from Marseille had received a fatal stab in the chest, after a brawl between two groups of young people for a futile reason, explains the national gendarmerie.

On June 3, a judicial operation of the gendarmerie had been conducted with the reinforcement of a platoon of the mobile gendarmerie of Nîmes and the PSIG of the gendarmerie company of Lunel. The two main suspects were arrested in the Mosson district, a third in downtown Montpellier and a last in Gignac.

Already known to justice

All the suspects were minors at the time of the events, some of whom were already known to the justice system, in particular for violence with a weapon or carrying a weapon. A knife had been found in the bag of the alleged perpetrator.

While in police custody, the suspects are said to have confirmed the investigators' investigations and to designate the same perpetrator of the fatal blow. Presented before the investigating magistrate on June 5, the alleged perpetrator and his main accomplice were charged. The main respondent, suspected of being the author of the knife, was placed in pre-trial detention.

Third minor involved in violent assault

A third member of the team saw his police custody transferred to the national police to explain a violent assault committed a few days earlier in Montpellier. The last individual was released without charge.
