Three women were attacked by a pit bull breed dog in the streets of Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, a commune in the Gard region on the edge of Vaucluse.
The dog is said to have escaped its owner and to have violently bitten a 70-year-old lady, bitten on the face and throat. She was rushed to the Avignon hospital center. The facts took place this Thursday, around 11 am.
The dog killed by the police
Another septuagenarian was also attacked, as well as a third person, a woman aged about thirty. The dog was eventually killed by police. According to initial reports, the dog was not kept on a leash. The owner of the animal is heard on the premises of the Avignon police station.
