A man was tried on Wednesday before the Rennes criminal court for domestic violence, reports Ouest-France . The facts took place on January 26 in Bruz in the Rennes suburbs. That day, a violent argument broke out within the couple, the man threatening to return with his ex. The woman, five months pregnant, had then torn up work documents and pinched her companion on the arm.

The latter had reacted by striking her in the stomach with a violent kick as she tried to take refuge upstairs. He then prevented her from calling for help. The woman had finally managed to get to the gendarmerie before being transferred to the hospital. For these acts of violence, the man was sentenced to two months in prison suspended.
