It has been a lot of trouble to find parking in the most popular baths in Västerås over the years. Debris has also been a problem. This year, we can add a corona pandemic, where we will keep distance and vacation more at home, which is why the City of Västerås has decided to develop new guidelines for handling public gatherings for the summer.

- We believe that congestion can occur on our visitor areas and that the western eagles may have a slightly different view of what is a comfortable distance. Then conflicts can arise. We can only inform and have summer hosts who can inform and talk to people in a nice way, says Linnea Viklund, street and park manager in the city of Västerås.

The costs can go away

What the cost will be for increased service during the summer is not clear today and Linnea Viklund believes that the weather will play a big role in how big the cost will eventually be.

- If the weather is as good as today then it will go away cost-wise and then we will have to save on something else. This is definitely our highest priority during the summer that it should be safe and pleasant to stay on our surfaces, says Linnea Viklund.
