They are suspected of at least two burglaries and of having then embarked on an incredible journey to try to escape from the gendarmes. Two young men of 15 and 19 years old were arrested on Monday afternoon near Nantes, after a chase worthy of an action film, report the gendarmes.
Everything started with the report of two burglaries, one in Thouaré-sur-Loire and the other in Mauves-sur-Loire. While the gendarmes of Loire-Atlantique, helped by a helicopter, start looking for thieves, the latter who were traveling in a stolen car lose control of their vehicle. To continue their journey, they decide to burn it down before stealing a second one.
Two more cars stolen and damaged
Having continued on their way to Saint-Mars-du-Désert, the two men then allegedly got hold of a rifle and the keys to a new car, again stolen from a pavilion. When they each leave behind the wheel of a vehicle, one of them sends him back into the scene and for good reason: when the gendarmes finally call him out, they realize that he is is only 15 years old.
The other burglar was found a few moments later, also with an accident vehicle. The gendarmes arrest this 19-year-old man but also two accomplices, who arrived on the scene to come and look for the malefactor. "The latter, unfavorably known to the police, had just been released for a few weeks after a sentence of six months," said the gendarmes. The investigation was entrusted to the Nantes gendarmerie company.
