As noted, on April 11, Latynina read the so-called letter from doctors of Nizhnekamsk on air of the program on Ekho Moskvy, which was sent to her by the leader of the Alliance of Doctors Anastasia Vasilieva.

The source noted that the text contained deliberately false information about patients with coronavirus infection in Tatarstan, and the example of this letter was used as confirmation that the authorities of the regions, including Tatarstan, were silent about the real extent of the disease.

During the preliminary investigation, it was possible to establish the source of this letter: it was first published on April 10 on the Doctors Alliance page on Twitter. The next day, the administration of the Nizhnekamsk region denied the publication.

Nevertheless, the source claims, on April 11, Latynina read out a "letter of appeal from Nizhnekamsk doctors" on the air of her program.

As noted, it was found that in Nizhnekamsk and the Nizhnekamsk municipal region as of April 10 and 11, no cases of COVID-19 were recorded.

The editor-in-chief of Echo of Moscow, Alexei Venediktov, told Interfax that the radio station received an appeal to ensure Latynina’s appearance in the UK for an explanation.

“We received this appeal, and we answered them that Yulia Latynina is not our employee, so I can’t transfer her personal data,” Venediktov said.
