During a lengthy press conference, Chief Prosecutor Krister Petersson and the investigative leader Hans Melander presented that they landed in the fact that it was Stig Engström who shot the prime minister and that the investigation into the Palme investigation is closed.

The S-profile and the former municipal council in Karlskrona Mats Johansson, who himself met with Olof Palme on several occasions, are today disappointed with what was presented.

- I'm disappointed. I was expecting more because you have suggested that you would give clearer information, says Mats Johansson.

"Don't think there will be any ending"

Mats Johansson had hoped to get a clearer picture of why Olof Palme was shot.

- Whoever held the gun I think is the right man, but by chance he happens to come out of Skandia and in one minute have both weapons, motives and decide to shoot Sweden's prime minister, it sounds unreasonable to me. The conspiracy and motive image has been left there and it is perhaps the most important to me, he says.

When we met you yesterday you talked about the murder of Olofs Palme is an open wound for your generation, how do you feel today?

- Unfortunately, I do not think there will be any ending. This only opens up to new conspiracy theories, private spanners and book publications. After all, there was no trace of new technical evidence, but old data had been compiled and presented an indicator chain that seems credible but it was far from what I expected.
