An elderly Korean American was assaulted on the grounds that he was Korean in the United States, the China-run Global Times reported.
The Global Times reported that the victim's granddaughter tweeted that a Korean old man living in Rialto, near Los Angeles, was seriously injured because she was Korean on the bus.
The granddaughter posted a picture of her grandfather with a bruise on her face, saying that the assaulter was black, and "they said they didn't want the China virus, so I beat her on the bus just because my grandfather was Korean."
"I'm a Korean... I'm assaulted by a black man on an American bus."
