The international coalition to fight the Islamic State in Iraq said that a US military plane crashed into a wall during its landing at Al-Taji Air Force Base north of Baghdad on Monday evening, which led to a small fire and damage to its structure.

A spokesman for the International Alliance said in a statement that the plane - a "C-130" for military transport and freight - overtook the runway of the base and crashed into concrete blocks, wounding four soldiers.

The statement stressed that there is no suspicion that any hostile party was behind the incident being investigated.

And Iraqi media reported earlier that the American plane crashed during its landing at Taji Air Force Base, north of Baghdad.

Activists posted a video clip from inside the Taji military base, showing the plane colliding with the base of the military base after it landed.

In a separate development, the Iraqi Security Media Cell announced Monday evening that a missile had landed in the vicinity of Baghdad Airport.

The cell said in a statement that the missile was launched from the Arab Khudair region, south of Baghdad Airport, noting that the security forces began a search operation to search for the perpetrators of the attack.

It is noteworthy that there are currently in Iraq about 4 thousand American soldiers deployed in several military bases across the country, and they train the Iraqi army and provide advice in the war against the Islamic State.
